Dynamic Event Scoring Model (New for 2025)This season, we’re introducing a dynamic scoring system to award ORL event points. This new model better reflects race difficulty, encourages long-term growth, and incentivizes larger prize pools. Points are now based on four key factors: 1. Competition Level (30%) Stronger competition means higher stakes. Points increase based on the number of top-ranked pros competing at an event. The Top 10 Pro Men and Top 5 Pro Women (based on latest ORL rankings) each add 2% to the event score. 2. Course Difficulty (30%) Courses are rated by top competitors on four criteria: Features - Jumps, berms, and technical obstacles Terrain difficulty - Sand, rocks, elevation, and surface conditions Speed - How fast is the course? Duration - How long is the race? Survey results from top 20 Pro Men, 10 Pro Women, 5 Legends, and 5 Clydesdales that competed at the event determine the final difficulty score. 3. Event Size (25%) Larger races earn more points. The total number of registered ORL racers across all divisions determines this score, maxing out at 25% for 100+ racers. 4. Prize Purse (15%) Bigger payouts increase event point values. A $10,000+ prize pool earns the full 15%. Smaller purses receive a percentage of this score based on their total payout. This new system ensures event points accurately reflect the level of competition, race difficulty, and event scale while incentivizing growth, inclusivity, and higher payouts for racers.

What is Race For The Rail?Like all great races, the Onewheel Race for the Rail started with a couple friends, a hankering for speed, and the deep-seated desire to find the Greatest Onewheel Rider! The winner of that first race got to hoist a spare frame rail that we customized and from that moment, Race for the Rail was born. Over the years, it has grown in size and scope into the premier Onewheel race on planet earth. The winner of Race for the Rail crowns the fastest rider in the States and has the high honor of taking home the Rail.
